I’m Raphael, and I’ve called this vibrant, chaotic, and endlessly fascinating city home for 15 years. With this tour, we will explore:
- The Jardin des Vestiges: Step back in time as we wander through the remains of Marseille’s ancient Greek and Roman past, hidden in the city’s archaeological garden.
- Hôtel de Cabre: A charming 18th-century mansion blending Provençal elegance with modern comfort, offering a unique stay in the heart of the city’s cultural and artistic vibe.
- Hôtel-Dieu: Admire the stunning 18th-century hospital, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and a symbol of Marseille’s rich heritage.
- Le Panier: Lose yourself in the oldest neighborhood in Marseille, a maze of colorful streets, street art, and authentic local charm.
- Navettes des Accoules: Navettes are traditional orange blossom-flavored biscuits from Marseille, shaped like small boats (symbolizing the arrival of the Three Wise Men). Crispy on the outside and tender inside, they are a beloved Provençal treat, often enjoyed with coffee or tea.
- Savonnerie Marseillaise: A traditional, natural soap made from vegetable oils (primarily olive oil), renowned for its purity, gentle cleansing properties, and iconic cube shape. A symbol of Provençal craftsmanship since the 17th century, it’s used for body, laundry, and household cleaning.
