Description

Hike through the Calanques National Park on a guided hike for an amazing day of adventure! At the summit: amazing views of Marseille city and coastline, the national park, and the surrounding mountains topped off with a good pique-nique brought to you to make you discover good french food. Meet your guide at 10:00 AM in Castellane, in the city center of Marseille and take the public bus for half an hour to the coast, towards Pointe Rouge and Parc Pastré. Start to hike up from there for about an hour and a half to the summit, while visiting this beautiful part of the national park on the way up. The hike is not long but can be sportive because the elevation is strong : between 5 and 7 km, for 400 meters up (3 to 4.5 miles for 1300 feet up). The trails are wonderful, and not crowded at all, but the dificulty is intermediate, it can be a challenge for those with fear of heights. There exists alternative easier trails, or other sectors of the national park, don't hesitate to book and write me for any questions ! Enjoy amazing views of Marseille, the national park, and the mountains surrounding (Le Garlaban, La Sainte-Baume, le Massif de l'étoile). Enjoy a nice pique-nique from typical French or Provençal delicacies. Then hike down for about an hour and a half to the sea again for some beautiful creeks and for those who want a last chill all together. The tour usually ends around 3:00 PM on the coast. You could go back to Castellane by around 3.30 pm or stay longer on the coastline. Another good option is to go back by electric scooter or bike : apps like lime, bird or voi works, or the public e-bike system which is called Levélo. Join us on this amazing adventure !

• Wear comfortable hiking shoes and clothing, and water (1.5l/person especially in summer) Be prepared to walk up a bit more than 400 meters in altitude and 6 to 7 kilometers Bring sufficient water and snacks, if you want something specific for yourself or to contribute to the picnic offered during the break. Sun protection is advised Be prepared for varying weather conditions, sun or wind. If the conditions are too harsh we'll cancel or reschedule the activity.
